La Tene Style Irish Ring hilt

Hi Guys I thought I posted this already but it doesn't appear to have worked, apoligies if it ends up here twice...
Here's a sword I just finished. the blade is hand forged L6, the fittings are silicon bronze with leather and moose antler spacers on the gripp and the gripp and scabbard are curly maple. much of this sword is inspired by LaTene period Celtic swords including the scabbard tip, the scabbard carving of two hounds is in the early pictish style.
thanks for looking.

The pomel is countersunk with a threaded tang and nut wich goes in about a centemeter and was then peaned.

Holy crap...that's really nice!

Are you using lost wax to cast the basic fittings, then carving the detail?

I have got to try carving soon! That's incredible Jake. Do you use mostly hand tools or is it done with a dremel or similar machine?

I'm with Don

I haven't even looked at the blade yet, the hilt and sheath fittings have just so much detail I think I'll be looking at these pictures for a little while yet....

Hi guys, Thanks! I carved the fittings out of wax, the detail is carved in the wax model just like the la tene craftsmen did it, then cast into bronze. the carving is all done with hand tools, little chisels and scrapers.
