Hamon line question

I've followed Don Fogg's instructions on blade finishing but cannot get my Hamon line to look correct.

Traditionally the hard part of the blade should be frosty in appearance and the back of the blade dark.

Mine is just the opposite. A beautiful dark wavy line just above the cutting edge. Look at the pic below and I have just the opposite:



how can I do it right???


I'll post a pic of my blade after I get off work...
