Mosiac damascus / Ironwood fighter
Just a little fighter I finished up. Still working on the sheath before it goes to its new home. 7-3/8" blade 12" overall. Proud fit Desert ironwood with a 1/16" domed pin.

Nice looking Damascus Bruce. Looks as if it would cut from the sides as well as from the edge, almost a barbed wire kind of look to it.

I agree with all the others Bing. That ironwood is really cool too.
I love the blade shape too. It's very versatile. Not just a fighter. Lose the top quill on the guard and you have a REALLY nice turkey slicer for Thanksgiving. __________________ John Doyle You have nothing to fear but fear itself...........and bears. |

Purdy, purdy, purdy, buddy . love that darker toned mosaic pattern. it goes so nicely with that ironwood. I need to get back to the shop and get some work done. We are in the midst of getting things setup for our youngest daughter's wedding reception on the 17th. once done, I have 5 chef knives that have to be finished up and THEN I'll do some Damascus stuff.
Beautiful work, as always, Bing! Dana |

Always like seeing your knives, Bing. Looks like a really nice piece of wood and betting it's even better in hand. Thanks for posting it.

Beautiful knife by anyone's standards. I particularly like the darker contrasting damascus. Did you make it yourself or acquire if from someone else. Whoever did it did a fantastic job!
Congratulations. Bob |

Bob , thanks for the compliment. This is my own Damascus. I was able to leave the Damascus dark by putting the blade in boiling water with baking soda mix. right out of the ferric chloride etch. That neutralizes the ferric and leaves the 1095 dark. It is another one of those trade off the we try to do.
