Hi Brett!

About the only thing that raises a red flag to me is when the term "light weight" is thrown in there....makes me wonder if the windings in the motor might be aluminum?? If they are, that's a BAD thing in my opinion. I unknowingly purchased a motor with aluminum windings ONCE....it lasted less then a month before the windings burned out......and it cost more to have it rewound at the motor shop, then it did to purchase a "quality" motor with copper windings. Just a word of caution.

I'm not familiar with the brands of motor available in Australia, but here in the states my choices are either Baldor, or Leeson motors.

I used to be a person who searched for a bargain in a motor, but quickly learned that you get what you pay for, and since will only purchase what I consider "quality brand" products as far as motors go. That way I only have to buy once, instead of several times before finally plunking down the money that I should have in the first place.

Thanks Ed,
it turns oout they have a proper store so i might have to call them and ask them a few questions about windings and a warranty.

Are these grinders any good

I prefer Baldor. They are smoother and quieter, but they are more expensive.
