Birdseye pivot pin
I have seen a few recent post on the knife forums talking about "birdseye" pivot pins. the look is definitely an eye catcher to me.
i have used the search function and haven't found any reference as how they did them. at first I thought of a Loveless bolt, but I'd think they would make really bad pivot pin due to the slop in the threads. even if you put a bushing in, you'd struggle to keep a nice tight snap. also the pins I have seen don't have the tell tail sign of the threads meshing. has anyone here had a hand doing one? care to share how? this is an example of what I'm talking about: http://www.britishblades.com/forums/...highlight=pama Erik |

They're made with a washer and a peened pin. I've done 6 or 7. There's a decent tutorial on knifedogs.
