Any one in Las Vegas
I tried to heat treat my knife tonight. I don't think it work I was not able to get the whole blade an even heat. The hot spot in my home made charcoal forge was not big enough to heat it all at the same time. I am hoping there is some one in my area that would be willing to help me out. I have the blade in the oven tempering, I am not sure if I would need to normalize it or could I just reheat treat it

well I rework the forge this morning, I think it worked much better. I got the whole knife (except a little bit at the end of the tang) an even glowing red and non-magnetic at several points along the blade. It is in the oven now.
I think I made this one work but I would still like some help with the next ones I do. I have look at sending it off but at around $25 per blade it is a little more than I can spend. If there is no one in Vegas that could help me out would any one be willing to let me ship out 2 blades to them. If so please message me and we can talk about compensation for you time and work. Thank you |
