new stuff from my workshop

hy friends,

I did some knifemaking efforts last weekend, the results can be seen at http://www.imagestation.com/album/?id=4292465873 (browse to pictures 43 and 44).

Here are the specs:

The puukko (n?43) has a handforged spring steel blade (edge quench, approx 8cm), grenadille hardwood handle, stainless steel spacer and guard. What can't be seen on the pic: the front of the guard has a rough forged finish. (small detail: the blade was forged during our full moon party with Achim, Dana and JW during Dana's trip to Europe)

Knife 44 has a spring steel blade (7cm) and axis deer antler handle (with brass rivets).

Thanks foor looking,

tim

Wow! Excellent looking knives, Tim. So that's the forging party knife? I'm not familiar with grenadille wood--never heard of it before, but it sure looks good on that knife. The 2nd one # 44 really caught my eye. Very nice. The color of the stag is beautiful. Thanks for sharing the photos. I had to sign up and get an account with imagestation to be able to see them, but it was quick and painless, and well worth it to be able to peruse your gallery. Great work, my friend. Getting to forge and hang out with you and Achim was one of the hallmarks of my year. What a good time!

Nice puuko! Boy I love those Scandinavian style knives. You guys must have had a total blast when Dana came to visit. Wish I could have been there!

Primo Tim, like #44 the best, nice effect, the antler slabs just kind of float on the tang. Definately has "That Look".
