Geroge Herron, a great man, a great knifemaker, passes on.

It's with sadness that I learned that George Herron passed away this morning.

What a great man, a great knifemaker and a great friend! He did so much good for custom knifemaking. Only good comes to mind when I think of George Herron. Our prayers go out to his wonderful wife and family. One of the great things about the custom knife business has been the opportunity to meet such wonderful folks. I'm better for having known George.

Jay Mealing was kind enough to send this information. Thank you very much, Jay:

Steve,
George was a true gentleman in the best way, he was ready to help anyone with the desire to make a superb knife. He will be missed by me and many others.

I never had the opportunity to meet Mr. Herron, but this is sad news, the knifemaking community has lost one of its pioneers.
My thoughts and prayers are with his family and friends.

Charles
