Question Am I the only one who got this email?

Am I the only one who received this email? The reason I ask is that it pretty obviously wasn't written especially for me (it's very general, and I have no interest in Japanese swords), and it smells like a sales scam. I just want to make sure that nobody has figured out a way to abuse the KN email system. I also found no member named Pawel Nowak (although the username could be different). Here's the email:
Quote:
Received from the The Knife Network Member System server.

From Pawel Nowak

E-mail address: Pawel_Tomasz_Nowak@yahoo.com

Message:

Dear Sir,

I have a Japanese sword (katana) with the XVIII century blade and I would like to sell it for the fee of $400. I have all the papers which shows I am a curent holder of the item. If you think you could have any interest in such item, please let me know.

With respect,

Pawel T. Nowak

Pawel_Tomasz_Nowak@yahoo.com
Edited to add: Pawel, if this is legitimate, I apologize for posting this. Private emails to members is not the way to sell items on the KN, however. There are for sale forums where these kinds of things are to be posted. Your email just looks like so many other scams out there on the internet, and I'm just trying to protect the rest of the KN members. You are welcome to defend the email, and if you're legit, I'll shout my apology from the highest mountain. (Well, it'll have to be a foothill. I'm not quite in the mountains. )

Not just you...

Me too. It smelt like a rat to me. $400 for a blade of this caliber? Right. And the omnipresent 'Yahoo' email address.

Pass.

Sounds like someone's figured out how to abuse the KN email system. Either that, or they've culled our email addresses somehow. Perhaps we should notify Alex?

I got it too. Obvious scam and what's more, it came to me on an e-mail address I only used on the old CKD, so he somehow managed to hack into it and steal our addresses, then pretend it came from the Knife Network.

Filthy scum.

I got it too. A quick click on the "delete" took care of it.

It is interesting that it appeared to come through the Knife Network.

He went to the profile pages and clicked on the member contact link. The final recipient e-mail addresses we use there are the ones we had on file for you from the previous site.
