I like the leather handled Bowie and I know that some folks collect only Lower "S" stamped Randalls.

David, the Model #14 came in the 60's--got it from Dick Van Sickle in Texas--had been waiting, believe it or not, for a "better" handle than the "cheap-looking" tenite with screws; when I found a solidly stuck-on handle of micarta, I jumped for it. (Crazy, in retrospect, I now realize!)

Bought the Model #1 at the shop quite a few years ago--just really liked the classic way it looked in the case, with its black micarta handle.

Latest of the three is the Model #12. I just really liked the look & style of the catalog-standard Model #1, so I inquired whether I could order a Model 12 that was built to look the same way. They said OK, and I went for it. (It's a BRUTE!)

I love all three.

You certainly lucked out with the #14. You should have bought a few more...

I never saw a #12-9 tircked out like a standard #1, and it was a very creative idea on your part (in a traditional sort of way).

Your #1 is very similar (except for the thinner spacers) to the one that appears for the first time on the cover of Bo Randall's "The Fighting Knife", (11th Printing, July 1961).

I understand why you love them all.
