Using a mill?

Is anyone out there using a mill to put the blade contour to their blanks??

As you can tell by my join date and low post count I am fresh as a todaisy to knife making.

I am in the middle of my first edged device and I have been using my mill to make my tapers.

I see everyone posting about belt sanders but I havent seen to much on vertical mills.

Thanks Howard.

I mill the flats on all my knives instead of grinding.

Cool, not alone

I am in the process of shaping my first thing with an edge, we'll see if it can be called a knife here in a day or two.

I milled a couple of different parts on mine so far.

Thanks

I milled a few with a tapered end mill with the knife edge straight up in vice and then decided to grind after that. Then I went to using the forge. At times I think stock removal is so nice after I get a blad really twisted and cannot decide where or what to hit...
