I've had this knife for quite awhile. I use it all the time, but I would like to know more about the style, nationality, and the maker. I've done some searches, but never came up with much of anything. From what I see on this site, you guys are a library within yourselves. Anything about it would be appreciated. If I lend it out I need to provide a lot of band-aids with it. The closing on it gets your finger every time.
Blade length is about 5-1/4 in. Overall length 11-3/4 in. Closed is 6-3/4 in. Thank you, Jerry Perkins |

Looks to be French made. The pattern, commonly called a "Laguiole" for the name of a town in France. I cannot pinpoint the maker mostly because I cannot make out the letters in the pic. No combo of my guesses comes up with anything. If it were a Mongin, it would be worth 250 new and up depending on the age.
Ahh-Haa, tried one last combo, NOGENT. A town in France, a cutlery center. Thats all I got. __________________ "Many are chosen, but few are Pict" "The doer alone, learneth" NT Neo-Devo |

Any chance that last letter is a Y, not T. . .mogeny?

Thanks guys for your help and info. I've been running some searches on the info, haven't come up with anything yet, but it is a better start than what I had before.
Armory, the mark on the blade is NOGENT. We just checked it again to be sure. Thanks again, Jerry |
