Early 10-3 with Johnson fold over flap sheath

Some of you may have seen this little Jewel on eBay last week. I couldn't resist.
It's a 1960's model 10-3 made before there was an official 10-3. Many cool things that distinguish this little knife. At first glance the flap on this early Johnson sheath.

This photo glimpsed a short 2 3/4" black Micarta handle

The blade is 3 1/2" long x 3/4" x 1/8". Overall knife length 6 1/4".

The sheath had to have been totally custom made for this knife, for the flap, and the exact width of the opening for this narrow blade.

Here it is side by side with my more standard early 10-3.

Different stamp. Of course no "S" for stainless as the early ones did not have the designation.

The top of the blade has no notches, the scales are thicker than standard too.

No cutout for finger placement.

This little knife is 1/8" narrower than the standard 10-3

Just a cool little knife. By chance, does anyone recognize this one? I think the model 10's have been made since the 40's, and that Randall employees made these smaller knives for themselves before it was offered in the catalog.

Regards, Sam
