Appearance Fees

Guys Im thinking of trying to put togather an Hammer in in Central Arkansas next year, was wondering what was customary for appearance fee's and other expenses for having a Maker come and demonstrate. Any ideas?

Also any other Ideas, or suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks

Mike

Demo fees

Hi Mike!

What I usually do is ask for travel expenses, plus time. Travel is pretty cut and dry, but each maker may rate his/her time differently. Generally when you see hammer-in fees that are $100+ per person, you can bet that the host is making very little........nearly all the money is going to the visiting maker(s) who are demonstrating.

Thanks Ed, on your time, is that considered hourly, or by the demo, by the trip? Just wondering how most folks figure this.

Thanks for the imput!

Mike

figuring your time.....

Mike,

I figure my time by the day. Basically I charge the same for demos as I do for my classes.....if you go to my sight, and break my class fees down into "per day" you'll have what I charge.......that is on top of travel expenses.
