Thanks for posting pics Stephan. One of my favorite places in the world, sure wish I could have been there. I can't believe you even got old Don Tommey up there from the "Chattahoochee Cutthroats"! I thought he was allergic to anvils! I hope to make it back down that way eventually. For now, less than a month left here in the cradle of uncivilization. Hope all you GA knifemakers are well.

Thanks Stephan and thanks to all of you that participated, helped teach others, helped setup and cleanup, and just helped anywhere needed. That's what makes this event work. If I didn't thank you up close and personal, it's never intentional.
The nut on the cycle is none other than our gracious host, Frank Alexander. He actually did a wheelie on top of the stump later! Great weekend (for you faint of hearts......anvils don't melt and aren't scared of a little rain)! Actually with the covered setup provided by our host, I think everyone was quite comfrotable. Frank said he counted 15 anvils being used at one time mid Saturday morning. Had at least five kids get the chance to pound some steel for the first time (about twice that many "older kids" did as well). Friend Ryan, Keep yer head down and come home safe. We always keep a forge lit for you. Yeah, it was a bit of a surprise to see Don come wandering in. He's welcome even if he doesn't speak hammer. Be good to see you again as well, Wade. __________________ Carl Rechsteiner, Bladesmith Georgia Custom Knifemakers Guild, Charter Member Knifemakers Guild, voting member Registered Master Artist - GA Council for the Arts C Rex Custom Knives Blade Show Table 6-H |

Hey guys! Sorry I missed the 'gathering'. Looks like another good time in the mountains! Looks like the 350 pound anvil in photo #2 came back for a visit also!
Ryan, good to hear from you! Let us know when you are back in CONUS. |

I fully intended to make the border crossing, but I have been down with a sinus infection for the last 3 weeks. The doctor said it was a good thing that I had no brain, because there would not have been room for swolen sinus cavaties and a brain.
Looks like the Blade Show had to be my last crossing this year. Glad all went well........ Hope to see you all again soon. Robert |

You did an excellent job with the hammer-in Carl. Faye and I really enjoyed ourselves. When we got out of the truck Faye said listen to all the tapping going on. We saw men, women and kids on the anvils and everyone had a smile on their face. We counted ten forges going at the same time. I think Will's grandson had the best time of all. He showed his knife to everyone.I'll have to look in Websters to see how to spell "hammer".
By the way Ryan I'm not old, I dye my hair white. Hope to see you soon. Mr one knife, Don Tommey |

Thanks for posting the pictures Stephen. Wish I could have been there, but had a chance to see my son and those are getting pretty rare these days. It is good to see that the hammer-in keeps on getting bigger. I'll have to get there early to get my spot back I guess. I would just love to have one day a month that I could feel like Sandy looks in that picture! Good to hear from you Ryan. Thanks for what you do! Stay safe and come see us when you get the chance.
