2010 CKCA Knife

This is a collective effort from Edmund Davidson, Steve Johnson and Wolfgang Loerchner, heat treat by Paul Bos, engraved by Barry Lee Hands which will be donated and raffled to raise funds for Lung Cancer research.
It's off to Paul Long's in Texas for a sheath.

This knife has been a pleasure to work on. It was great working with Edmund, Wolfe and Barry on it's construction. Not to mention Kevin Jones, of CKCA, Paul Long, who's doing the sheath and Chuck Ward, who'll be taking photos. Keep and eye out, I have a feeling that it's picture will show up in the best places!

Great job by all involved.

Looking forward to seeing this knife at the CKCA Banquet.

Might have to buy a chance on it also.

Take Care

We didn't even mention the fact that this knife will be purchased by raffle on, or around June 1st.

The raffle looks like the way to go, but how many, how much per ticket, etc.? Thanks!
ANSWER:
Good question Steve. All the options/opinions are before the board and a final raffle process/rule set will be forthcoming in a couple days.

Have any of you worked on a collaboration before - and how did it go? I find it frustrating in hoping to get my part done on time and done well. Then there is the transportation of the "part" to the next guy, always worrying about it's safe arrival, etc. Fed Ex is pretty worry free, I've found. This one went well, though there was a "bump" or two along the way. It was an honor to work with these gentlemen Edmund Davidson, Wolfgang Loerchner, Barry Lee Hands, Paul Long, Chuck Ward and Kevin Jones of CKCA.

Here is the procedure for getting a chance to buy this knife, as reported on the CKCK web site forum: http://www.customknifecollectorsasso...=4004#post4004

? We will offer 200 ticket numbers @ $100.00 per ticket.

? CKCA members with paid-up dues get a 24 hour advance window ahead of the general public to purchase tickets. Said CKCA members can purchase tickets on-line utilizing Paypal via the CKCA website on Monday May 31 @ 6:00pm EST ? Tuesday June 1 6:00pm EST. CKCA members can also purchase tickets via cash or check on Thursday June 3 from 6:00PM-10:00pm at the CKCA Banquet in Atlanta.

Tickets will go on sale to the general public on Friday morning June 4 @ 11:00am at the CKCA Booth located in the lobby of the Blade Show in Atlanta and on-line utilizing Paypal via the CKCA website*. www.customknifecollectorsassociation.com

*note: though unlikely, it's possible due to CKCA member advance purchases that tickets could sell-out prior to being available to the general public on June 4.

? A limit of 10 tickets can be purchased per person. CKCA member's total of 10 tickets can be purchased either inside advance window or after sales open up to the general public.

? ALL CKCA members are eligible to participate.

? Our Drawing will take place at the AG Russell Knife Event 2010 at the CKCA Booth on Saturday July 31 in Rogers Arkansas. Exact time to be announced.

AG Russell / AG Russell knives has agreed to manage the raffle drawing process by verifying the ticket accounting and actually drawing the winning ticket at his show.
