Dagger ground drop point

Dagger ground 5160 utility knife with stabilized Redwood burl handles.
3.5" blade with full length false edge 4" handle made from 1/4" 5160

Since it is 1/4" stock and fairly short, I wanted to grind in a swedge. I kept chasing symmetry on either side until finally it became what you see lol.

Double grinds are tricky, but it looks good and the handle is great. It is an unusual grind for a drop point, but again it looks good.

I tried making a double ground knife and it ended pretty small, but I learned a lot in the process. If you want a 3/16 thick knife start with 1/4 lol or you'll end up with 1/8 like I did and about 2 inches shorter too.lol.

Very cool. I have yet to try a double grind, but I'm building up the guts to do so. I agree with everyone else. I've never seen a grind like that, but it looks pretty cool.
