More!

And a few more images:

Notice that the handle fills my right hand with a flawless fit, and the knife balances perfectly on my forefinger.

Thanks to all the guys at the Randall shop who contributed to the creation of this beauty!

I also have a question for Dirty Water: Why does the crown stag have such a glossy finish? Thanks!

Cheers!

Moosehead

Great knife, Brasshilt. It sure has the "look" of provenance!

But....................

Where is the brass hilt?

It's nice to have you here.

Best,

Ron

Well thanks, it's nice to be here. Here's a brass hilt for you and ok, I'll admit it, I do like nickel too but the old stuff, it's more pure and looks a lot better.

That's a great old warrior. Thanks for posting. You know, it makes you wonder how many guys took incoming because their nickel silver hilt was too shiny! I'm partial to brass myself.

I hope nobody but unfortuneatly those things probably did happen occasionally, brass or nickel, I would think anyone around you might smack you upside the head if they saw you polishing your metal

RMK #1-7" APFK...With Lignum Vitae

I'm adding my new RMK Model #1-7" to the thread of the week. I supplied the Lignum Vitae for this build..the workmanship was flawless.

Wonderful grain on that LV handle, Rex!

It's hard not to like this knife.

Cheers!

David

A new edition to the family, received a couple of blocks of "Spalted Sycamore" last year from Rick Bowles and promised I'd display the finished product. Here's the 1st one and the shop as usual, did a superb job...

That may be the most unique and beautiful wood handle I've ever seen ... almost like natural desert cammo. And the brass looks perfect with it. I usually like but don't lust after new knives, but I think I'll make an exception. What a knife! Regards...

Thanks guys, couldn't be happier with this one...I see more and more wood handled Randalls these days.

Rob,
That's a striking model #1 for sure. I hadn't thought of Desert Camo but it works! Here's a "Dealer Duo" matched pair, in the same wood, that Dave Harvey and I put together a while back.

Beautiful set Rick. Last new Randall I bought was in 1968... but if I get the bug for a new one, I'm going to look for that wood for the handle. Where do you find it?

Here is a picture composition with Rob's knife. Other side is dead ringer for pattern but couldn't get it right in pic...

Regards, Jack

just posting a regular ol' Model 1. It was new 3 months ago, and has been a duty knife for those three months and it has been hard use. New, it ain't, but a friend commented that it looked real. It has held up very well, maybe not in looks, but edge holding is second only to stainless Randalls i have tried, and second to no others.
