Help with my project please

I'm making a fixed blade damascus (my second knife) and while grinding the handle I scratched the steel and lost the etching on the borders of the handle. Since the handle is already with epoxy, I was wondering how should I restore the pattern.

Would it be possible to rub Ferric Chloride since immersion is not an option?

Thank you in advance

Cover your handle with plastic you test that ferric acid doesn't burn through and tape with electrical tape, then use a Q-Tip dipped in the FC. See how that works, most poly plastics will hold up, but test first!

electrical tape and some nail polish should mask off enough of the handle to submerge just the blade.

if your guard/bolsters are brass, be sure to cover them VERY well or else youll end up copper plating your whole blade.
