DDR3..a little different
Got a new Canon A80 last night and took these with the camera out of the box. I'm going to spend some time looking through the photography forum as these pics are aweful. I have no light source except for the lamp on my desk.
Anyway...My DDR3 ......mirror polished (at least it will be when I am done) with Cocobolo scales. Still needs some finish work but I needed something to photograph with my new camera so this is it. With Dennis' obligitory backspine shot of course............. |

First off, outstanding job!!
How did you do the "Dimpling" on the liners around the Cocobola, or are those liners? Thanks! __________________ Freedom needs a soldier A nameless faceless one A young girl's lover A baby's father Some mother's son |

First of all the knife is gorgeous!
Second, I just got the same camera and if those are your first attempts I say well done. Maybe it's just me but I found that theres ahuge learning curve to overcome with this camera ( my first digital). Any how I just wanted to say how much I like the Knife. Great job1 __________________ BAT |

Thanks everyone for the kind words.
My eyes are all blurry from reading all the threads in the photography threads. Hopefully the next photos will be a little better. The liners were dimpled using a Flexi-Shaft tool with a small diamond burr bit. I locked the tool in a vise and pressed the liner against the bit. I tried it the other way around but the tool was too hard to hold still. |

I love it! Great the way you're always thinking out of the box.
My first reaction...Kinda reminded me of a fine english leather chair (That's meant as a compliment in the very best way). As always, thanks for the filework shot. Dig the starburst-like effect. Nicely done. That DDRIII is sweet isn't it? Dennis Greenbaum Yeah Baby! PS. Photo tip...When shooting the blade, bolsters, etc (any refelctive metal parts) it helps to let the part "see" white. I use one of the white card stiffener pages that come packed with inkjet paper...Hold or affix in such a way that it is reflected into the metal..You'll be amazed at the difference. Bill,
That's about as clean a kit as I've seen. I'm pretty envious of you! Good ideas and great execution. Really makes me want to get my own shop back in order. This is a fine inspiration. Be proud!
