Conversion of 2 x 36 to 2 x 72
Hi All,
I was wondering if I could get some help to convert a 2 x 36 multi tool grinding attachment to 2 x 72, I just couldnt afford the KMG. Any help would be appreciated, I pretty much have an idea how to do it, just thought maybe there was an easier way. As always thanks in advance. UB |

It has been done before. I've seen pictures on Jason Cutter's website I think. I could be wrong. I do know he had the same grinder.
I have the 2 X 48 MultiTool II and loved it while it was my primary grinder. I still use exclusively for establishing the edge and sharpening. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

I had thought about doing exactly that a few years ago. I think that it should be simple if you use a rigid mount for the grinder and whatever will hold the platen or contact wheel. Turn the arm of the multi-tool to the upright position, and that becomes your tracking idler. In the end, however, I decided to leave it the way it was, since I used the small contact wheel for so many things.
