propane forge
I have a propane forge but its to big and burns to hot. I want to start over with a new better design without spending 200$. Does anyone know any reliable designs with detailed measurements Pictures and all for the burner and forge itself. im only going to be making knives 6-12 inches. Preferably no welds I suck at welding

If it's a complete forge you're looking for......$200 won't get you much of a forge. However, if you build one yourself, and scrounge some materials from a scrapyard, $200 will get you a great forge.
I have plans available on my website......if you're interested, shoot me a PM, along with your email and I'll give you the details.

Larry Zoeller is the go to guy for Venturi burners. His website has more info than almost any other I've seen on this subject. You're better off making your own if you can. You can get exactly what you want. Ed has a great design for a vertical welding forge that I highly recommend. It's awesome. And if you check out Ray Rogers website he has a ton of info on building things "dirt cheap." Blowers, forges, burners. If you have a specific question on anything just ask. The guys here are life savers. I've send many emails to them and as busy as they are, they always stop and answer my questions no matter how stupid. There are some amazing people here.

I've got the Diamondback. It's a nice unit. A little small but excellent for knifemaking. I usually can forge weld between 7-9 psi after it's good and heated up. If you plan on doing damascus be warned, borax will eat the insulating brick up. After a year I had to replace the bricks. That's the reason I bought it though, since it uses standard bricks they are easy to replace. Happy forging.
