Here is a picture of the knife that we are donating to the Poythress Scholarship fund. Got to be there to win!

It has a 10 inch blade, hollow ground and differentially heat treated. The handle is elk leg bone and the fitting is pewter. The sheath is leather wrapped with rawhide and sewn with artificial sinew. (First and Harry says hopefully the last rawhide sheath!) Since we aren't sure of the type of steel (made from a fence post) this knife does not carry the Twin Blades logo but a stamp that Harry uses on his forged blades consisting of an H and M joined.

Great meeting folks.....Thanks for hosting Scott. For those of you who haven't hosted one it's quite an undertaking.
Always good to see new faces.
Congrats Jerry on winning the above knife - You and Nola are accumulating quite a collection of "won" custom knives. Rivaled only by Don's growing collection. Now stop grinning and get ready for Trackrock. Rumors are there will be a raffle knife there as well.

Good to hear who won the knife! Hope it serves you well Jerry.

Wish I could have stayed, but family obligations sometimes come first. With a great host, shop, and some terrific demonstrations it was looking like the meeting really headed in the direction of a classic. I hated to leave before lunch and the iron in the hat drawing. Two segments of a meeting I don't like to miss...There was some interesting stuff on the table that I would have liked to have had a shot at. I really enjoyed the home made micarta demonstration Scott did and Carl's demonstration on forging got me interested in cranking up the forge again.

This one goes down in my book as a really good day. Thanks Scott, Carl and all the others that were there and made the day so interesting. I can't wait for the next one.

Scott,

Thanks once again for hosting a great meeting. I really enjoyed your demo and I can't wait to get over to the fabric store and try my hand at some custom camo Micarta.
Your family did a great job on the lunch

Scott,
Thanks again for the great hospitality and meeting. Tell your family that was a great lunch, only thing missing was a glass of cold milk to go with that awsome banana pudding.
Have a safe hunting season,
Jim Hamer

Scott, thanks for hosting the Summer meeting. As usual, you and your family did an outstanding job. Folks, this meeting is what the Georgia guild is all about. Good friends sharing their knowledge and experiences about making knives.
Hopefully we will have some pictures posted soon. I saw Don all over the place with his camera.
