Just Got Mine Today!!
Mine showed up today. Andrew I have to say man this knife is even better than expected!! You do awsome work bro. What are the scales under the cord wrap? Ivory micarta maybe? The sheath is also very awsome. That thing isn't coming out of the sheath. Very tight fit. I can tell there was some serious thought into the entire project. I realy like the whole package. Thanks again. Shane

Bruce, I hope that you enjoy the knife........... I made that knife for a guy in the USMC and he cancelled the order, that's why the handle is small (gloved hand use). The knife was painted with Brownell's gun coat (tan with black stripes). After I joined the KITH I sanded the gun coat off and quickly made a sheath (Less than a hour, got sloppy with the contact cement). I was able to sand the blade well, but I didn't spend much time on the ricccasso area.
It's a pure working knife, use it.... abuse it..... I made the knife last October while doing a forging demo at the ABS school. I was there to do my "JS" preformance test during a "intro" class and was asked to forge a blade for them. The class was taught by Joe Keesler, and Bert Gaston. 5160 blade differantly ht'd with clay Sculpted Bloodwood handle "Pineapple" leather sheath BB |

Bruce,
I got mine yesterday. Wow! This is a seriously heavy-duty knife! It is just screaming to go chop something big and thick. Thanks so much for your excellent work on this baby. It'll make a fine addition to my KITH knife collection! Shane, That sheath is designed to be worn on the right side with the ring facing forward. The split loop is made to go on either side of a belt loop for security. Unsnap, pull back to clear the top of the sheath, pull it out and take care of your assassin business. Yes, the handle slabs are paper micarta, and the sheath was a design nightmare. It's one piece of leather wrapped over the top--never done anything even close before. I'm glad you like it. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

I got my Crazy Frazee Madman Chopper on Friday - but haven't had a chance to do anything with it due to a never ending cold. Honestly, the word "impressive" falls short. The hand sanding is spotless, and the handle is super comfortable. When you grab the handle and take it out of the sheath, the chopper screams "USE ME! CHOP WITH ME! BREAK SOMETHING!!!". And I fully intend to once I'm off my ass.
And I love that Tek-Lok. I think I'm going to start using these on my sheaths. It's so #### convenient being able to clip it on my belt and make sure it's 100% secure - without removing said belt. Thanks Dan!! __________________ Kurt Huhn pipecrafter@pipecrafter.com http://www.pipecrafter.com |

Alan
Alan is supposed to have pics. I am currently in the midst of a remodel and have no time for anything. In fact I just had a guy cancel a custom order because it was taking too long. 2 months versus 1 originally estimated . Dan

I have pictures... but I will have to load them up tommorrow and see if I can get um posted...
That knife is a kind of different style for me... not really my thing, but it was fun, cuts like a laser, watch you fingers... You did get the finished chopsticks as well as the blanks right???? I am just making sure the PO didnt get a free gift.. Specs on the knife are... Steel 52-100 Bolsters 303 stainless Handles straight grained desert ironwood Pins mosaic Sheath leather by ME... count your blessings... its not sheathed in kydex, i hate doing leatherwork. I hope you like it and it serves you well!!! let me know about those other chopsticks. Alan |

Yep
I got the other chopsticks as well. Now I have to contemplate how to turn the blanks to get them the same diameter . My lathe is teeny and the through hole will not accommodate the bigger of the two. The finished set gives me all kinds of ideas for my own chopsticks but my technical skills with the lathe are nonexistent. Plus I don't have a teeny tiny bit to make those cool grooves. Dan
The leather is nice though! Dan __________________ Life is hard, but God is good! Crazy Frazee Forge djfrazee@gmail.com http://frazee.blademakers.com http://www.usualsuspect.net/commerce/aff.php?aff=2405 A strong man disciplines his desires, restrains his reactions and keeps his commitments. |
