Member location
I was wondering if it would be worthwhile to be able to view or search for members by location. I just now found that another member is only 45 minutes from my house. It was sheer luck that he replied to one of my posts or I would have never known it. It would be very time consuming to go through each members name to find those that are nearby. Anybody have any thoughts??

This is a very good idea!
A month or so ago, I was curious if anybody was near me...had to do just as you mentioned, go through every member one at a time. I only checked the newest members, otherwise I would have been at it a very long time. Sure enough I found a couple with driving distance that otherwise would not have discovered. Dennis Yeah Baby! |

You can look at the member profiles to determine the location, assuming they wanted to add it at the time they registered.
I've considered building a workaround to the script to allow various search types on the data, but it's another project that is down on my to-do list. There's just so few hours in the day any more. Alex __________________ Alex Whetsell [======]~~~~~~~> Atlantavirtual.com Atlanta NOC |

What about just adding a "sort by location" button in the members listing? Perhaps sorting by state or country for those overseas. With all of the members we have, and those I would expect to join as advertising is increased, I think this could be beneficial for most of us, in particular us newbies that are always looking for instruction. I understand about lack of time, but you make it sound like you are actually getting an opportunity to sleep at night
