One-Brick Forge D2?

Hello,
I have some O-1 that I will be using a one-brick Mapp forge to heat treat, but I also have some D2 that I was planning to have sent out for HT when they were done. Can D2 be done in a one-brick forge with Mapp gas? The temps I know need to be significantly higher than O-1 and I am concerned I would not be able to do it. This blade will only be about 3-4" in length. Could it be done? If not ill just shoot it out for HT, but I always prefer to do things myself if possible....

I would suggest sending it to a commercial heat treater. While your one brick forge will probably get hot enough, D-2 requires precise temperature controls for a longer period of time than you'll be able to get from your forge. Also, cryo is really needed to get the most out of D-2, and the commercial heat treaters will offer that as well. I do my own heat treating of carbon steels in my forge, but I send my stainless out.
