Bandsaw Blades

I'm going to order some 64 1/2" bimetal bandsaw blades and I have a question. I'm normally cutting 3/16" stock and 1/8" and 1/4" on occasion. How many teeth per inch would you order and what tooth setup? Anyone have a good source? Thanks.

Tom, If I recall, it is usually recommended that you have 3 blade teeth contacting the stock being cut. As far as the teeth pattern, I can't help you, sorry.

Tom,

Gene's blades selection works very well. I've seen his video.

(Great video, Gene!)

So far the best price that I've found is at McMasters-Carr. If anyone knows a better source let me know.

That's were I ended up ordering them from, they had the best prices. The part number for them is 4179A252. They are bimetal, 5' 4 1/2", 1/2" wide, .025 thick, 14 tpi and regular teeth set. They were $17.88

Tom, I hope this will help you in selecting the proper amount of teeth on your blades.

Contact on material = 3 teeth
Example: 1.0 divided by 24 = .041
1.0 divided by 14 = .071
1.0 divided by 16 = .062

1/8 =.125 = .041 x 3 teeth = .123
1/4 =.250 = .071 x 3 teeth = .213
3/16 = .187= .062 x 3 teeth =.186
