Post pics of your first/ugly/failed knives

I've heard more experienced makers here tell newbies things like:

"That knife is ok....you shoulda seen MY first knife...what a hunk of junk!"

well.... I'm curious to SEE these knives...

I believe that they could possibly be a teaching and learning tool for everyone here, so don't be bashful and ashamed....post em!

Her I go again, 3rd time is the charm Here are my first two knives....I have improved slightly since, but I am still a newbie. Edited to add: while they are not very pretty, they both are still quite useful, one is in my kitchen drawer and the other is in a bucket in my shop and gets used for everything from cutting to prying open stuff.

Since you asked so nicely...

...here is my first. I still have it, and I am not ashamed of it. It was built in total ignorance about 40 years ago.

Hmm..I dont have any pics of my first knife but I do have a nice pic of a failed blade.

This particular blade was made for the KITH on the Primal fires site. It didnt make it throught the heat treat in one piece tho.

Here's my first, second, and third. On my fourth I got a chance to hammer with Roc Ellis for an afternoon and there was a noticable jump in quality, I estimate 6 months off the learning curve.

I think that little knife is very cool Don... Looks like a really practical knife. I wouldn't be ashamed of it either... seems really handy.

Thanks guys for posting your knives.
