Post rating ??

Hi .. Quick question.. Everytime I post, or reply to a post, I notice a check mark pops up under the "rating".. I just don't want folks thinking I'm giving everything I write a thumbs up or something..Is it something I can remove?? Thanks Alex.. I love the new site.. Best, Rich

Guys,

Always refer to the user guide and FAQ to read about detailed usage features of the forum software. If there is a button or option on the screen, it is detailed in the user manual.

The one you need for this question is here:
http://www.knifenetwork.com/forum/fa...vb_thread_rate

You don't have to rate a thread, but you can, and it can help other users to determine if the thread is good enough to read, assuming they are time limited.

Alex

Rich,

I see no ratings at all posted to this thread. On the ratings column of the main board, this post and all below it are empty on my display.

Which display mode are you in?

Alex

Hi Alex, yep..This is a strange one.. I believe from the descriptions of display modes I could find, I am in "linear Mode" with the newest threads being show to me first.. the only thing similar to to my "check" mark that appears in the" post rating" box is, I have seen a paperclip icon, and I believe I have seen what appears to be a thumbtac also on certain other threads.. This check mark appears on my screen in the post rating box everytime I post to a thread, but I can't be certain that other people see it as well.. Perhaps it is solely a reminder to me that I have posted there.. That must be it... I was just a little concerned that folks might think I was rating posts everytime I participated.. If others can't see the check mark as you indicated, I am not concerned...Thanks Alex,..Once again, job well done on our new site..I really like it, and so do the others with whom I have talked to about the new forum site.. Best, Rich

Rich,
Same thing has been happening to me. Pending Alex's further reply, I bet you're right about what's happening. We'll see.

Alex,
I like the new site. It's clearly more fine-tuned than before. I had accessed CKD through the forums and it was probably over a year before I realized there were knives for sale on the site. The new approach got my attention right away with the image of a Buster Warenski folder, which I just had to investigate. So, if others have had the same experience, I'd say you did a number of things right. Congratulations!
Buddy
