Welcome Terence, KITH's are a great way to push your limits and get some nice knives.
You'll enjoy this. |

Got a question. if i missed it in the description i am sorry. Can the knife be forged or does it have to be ground? if it has to be ground i am out dont have any thin enough steel, but i do have some monster bars of 5160 that would make one hell of a camp/hunt knife.I might make both! if so then i am in like flynn!
God Bless Kenneth oh and i to am a knife maker, who has many burnt toes, ground knuckles, and who has toasted his eye brows to many times to name! |

HAHAHA!!! Hope your toes nuckles and eyebrows are all o.k. I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter if the knives are stock removal or forged. I think it would be great to see a variation of both in this KITH. Shane

Forged has always been fine. I plan to hammer out something myself.

It doesn't matter. All disciplines are welcome.
I'll add your name to the list. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

Andrew, have you noticed there's alot of newer names in this one(not necessarily new makers). This is good.

Indeed!
BTW, I wasn't feelin' my last avatar anymore. I hope this one isn't too... militant.

I was thinkin' that this might be good time to try a camp set. Camper/skinner combo in one sheath. Too much?
Yet, I still want to do a big, dark, sinister persian that reeks of 'ASSASSIN'! I'd put just a flash of bright red in it somewhere. hmmm...

I have always wanted to make a hatchet combo of some sort. I have seen a couple of sets that has a hatchet and a knife that have the same type of handle shape and material and I think they look realy neat. If someone was to make Just a hatchet for this KITH would that be acceptable?? or do we need to stick to a knife. I guess it is called a " Knife In The Hat" isn't it. Shane

A blade with something to hold on to. That's kind of the minimum standard of a knife if you get right down to it.
I think a hachet, spike hawk, or any other useful camp tool would fit the bill. For that matter, going with 'assassin', a headsman's ax would be totally awesome!
