anodizeing titanium

Is it posible to anodize your titanium liners withe the ball detente set. Will this cause a problem with the current in the TSP?

I've done it both ways. You'll get some minor pitting right were the deten ball contacts the titanium, but it is very minor, and doesn't seem to hurt anything. OH! The amount/depth of the pitting increases with voltage, so if your coloring at the highter votlages take care not to over do it with the detent ball in place.

It will cause a problem if there is any steel attached to the titanium you are trying to color. The steel will turn black and the titanium immediately around the steel will refuse to color. The more voltage you use the more it will sizzle and bubble, frogs will rain from the sky, dogs and cats will start sleeping together, and civilization as we know it will crumble and fall........

The area around the stainless ball will be discolored, but it doesn't seem to do any harm, as Ed says.

anodizing

I just paint the detent ball with red fingernail polish and then anodize. It works for me.

You dont have to use red nail polish. A lot depends on what you're wearing and your hair color. Be creative! heh heheehhheehhh couldnt resist that....

Thanks for all the replys, I think I'm gonna try it with the ball installed. I really don't feel like trying to knock the ball out and then have to reinstall it after coloring. Oh, and one last thing for all you comics, theres an open mic night here in west Michigan on saturday nights. Some of you guys might do well!!!
