Looks like a nice big skinner! Overall I like it, but there's something not quite right about it. The blade, by itself looks fine, and the handle by itself looks fine. But they just don't seem to go together. Part of it may be the second finger notch that's throwing the lines off, the second one seems to be a little bit higher than the forward notch.

The sagging back (handle) looks a bit out of place. If this was a drawing, I'd have some usful input, but since it's already cut...
On the next one, try pushing your thumb ramp forward a bit and raising the back to curve down into the thumb ramp--not up into it. This should give it a 'prouder' more aggressive profile, while providing more meat for the hand to grip (obviously a concern since you added finger grooves). I really like the flow of lines to the point--good relationship. __________________ Andy Garrett https://www.facebook.com/GarrettKnives?ref=hl Charter Member - Kansas Custom Knifemaker's Association www.kansasknives.org "Drawing your knife from its sheath and using it in the presence of others should be an event complete with oos, ahhs, and questions." |

I agree with Andrew about the drawing vs. an in progress piece.
You know, there is really only one way to tell if this design works or not at this point. Just finish it out, put a handle on it, and use it! |
