Mission completed
Hello everybody,
This is my very first try to make a scandi handle. I bought everything from Brisa in Finland. Blade is from blacksmith Kay Vicstrom. The steel used is Bohler with C 0.8%. Hardness is 58. Blade length is 98 cm. I asked Kay for the specific details of the steel by mail and he answered within a day. I think that is high service! The antler i used is reindeer with black leather spacers. Buttcap, lanyardhole and bolster are stainless steel. Wood is curly birch. The only thing i am not so pleased with is the color of the antler. I was hoping for a more white color. Anyway, here is the result. I hope you like it. Comments and advice for future projects are more than welcome! Bert |

Thats an outstanding piece of work. I actually like the color of the antler, the slightly darker color offsets the light color of the birch.
Very nice! |

Thank's. The antler has a somwhat salmon like color. Well, i can live with that. After all it's natural material.
