Question Italian Knife Laws

I would like to make a doctor friend of mine a knife for his birthday, somthing he could use as an every day carry. As he lives in Italy I would like to find out about the laws of that country. I would hate him to get into trouble for having it or have some officer confiscate it.

Any help would be appreciated.
