finally finished my first knife...
3/16 O1 , 7 1/2 OAL , 3 1/2 Blade...hollow ground , black G10 , 2 brass pins and 1 mosaic. Still need to work the edge on some stones to get her hair popping sharp.
This is a total blast , I am so in love with grinding . So much to learn ... gonna be a long fun filled road ahead... now to get busy building that forge open to any contructive criticism __________________ plastic is for buying knives with , not sheathing them. formerly known as " Vegas Henchman "... |

Looks super. You and James seem to be picking it up quite nicely. You sure have picked up the grinding quick.

I wish my bro Fed Singertat2 could make it over more often. We feed off each other... the air is electric when we work together.

Impressive
A whole lot better than my first knife. It has a nice shape to it. Looks like you spent some time getting the pattern just right before you made it. Looking forward to seeing more. You should post it in the display case if you havn't already.

thanks for the comments , working on 2 more now , hope to get em done in the next week or so. Putting a new roof on the house this week eliminated all my shop time , well most of it , I did manage to get the ruff grinds done on 2 more blades.

The thing I like most about this knife is the choil... it's shape doesn't look like it would hang on the materials being cut, and the way you've done it would not cause a stress riser, or a sore finger if it strays too close. Normally I don't really like one on a blade, but this is an exception...8)
Beautiful design, beautiful workmanship. |

I wasnt sure if I was gonna like the choil or not..but I like , but I guess I am partial....
took a break from the roof repairs on the house and went out back to the shop and got a lil more work done on a few pieces.... most are O1 , with the exception of the top right 2 blanks and the bottom 2 ( which are ATS34 , the lil ones are 15n20 .100 thick , make nice slicers the O1 is pretty thick for my tastes ( 3/16 ) so I tapered the tang on the one 2nd from the left.... __________________ plastic is for buying knives with , not sheathing them. formerly known as " Vegas Henchman "... |
