O/T - Antique Car Hood Ornaments
I work with knife photography 99% of the time there is a camera in my hand. That said, we all like to branch out and experiment.
One of the cool things I have 'focused' on is shooting hood ornaments at the classic car shows I attend (following around my Grandfather-in-law with his pair of boattail coupe Bugatti's from the twenties.) These were taken with my Canon 5D and a 100mm fixed lense. I kept the aperture at f2.8 to provide the blurry background (pro term: 'Bokeh') which gives them prominence. Like I do in my knife photography, I will focus on an object and then swing away slightly to capture the scene out of dead center. Very effective quick method. You will see. More coming.... |

This was fun to shoot. The 100mm lense is near perfect, as most of these autos were behind a rope, and I could stand away about six feet. Full-length shots had too much scene corruption. Thanks for checking them out. Coop |

Coop, Thanks for sharing those pictures. It is very nice to see your photographic work that we normally don't get a chance to view.
Mike's 41 Ford Panel that is in need of restoration. It belonged to his Grandfather who purchased it new and it has been used for a pick up/delivery vehicle for a dry cleaning business. It has only 1 seat. Taken with 5D mark ll & 35 1.4 @ 2.2. |

Those are awesome Coop. I think you've got the makings of a seriously marketable calendar there, or similar uses - or a gallery showing. Yes!
