Starting My KITH Bowie

I know of a guy that lives near me who is an awesome blacksmith. We have talked a few times. He said he has always wanted to start making knives and I definitely need some blacksmithing basics. I finally met up with him today and got to use his pneumatic hammer on some more w2. He gave me a few blacksmithing pointers and we flattened out one round bar of W2 and started a knife for each of us. It was still alot of work, but much faster than by hand. Anyway, here is the start of My KITH bowie, a Hells Belle, Unless I decide not to do a C guard. I have one week to finish it before I leave so I'll be working hard. Here are a few pics.

Starting the round stock. He made one pass, to show me how the hammer worked, then handed it over to me.

Getting close, bouncing between the power hammer and his 500lb peter wright anvil. (made my anvil feel like banging on pop cans)

profiled ready for grinding.

We then moved over to my shop and got both knifes close to ready for heat treat, which I will do tomorrow.
