Help!!
I was just finishing up a knife for vegas and ran into a big snag. I thought I had softened the tang and went to drill a hole and only got a teeny way in. I thought I had to heat it to blue and then just let it sit. (This seemed to work on the bowie I just finished) But it is cold here so it may be cooling off too fast? Any ideas or help here would be appreciated. It would be a shame to not be able to finish this in time with all the hard work completed. Thanks!!

You can drill it even if it is full hard if you can get a straight flute carbide drill bit (not a spade drill) sometimes marketed as Hi-Roc. You can order one in any size from MSC and get it in two days or even overnight if you really want to.....

Thanks Ray! You are always so helpful. I did a quick internet search and did not find them. Do you have their phone number or web address? Thanks,
Also thanks for your help on my Bowie pin question earlier. That works really slick. The fit is tight enough the epoxy is almost an afterthought. |

Never mind I found it. It was the top item in my search I don't know how I missed it. Thanks again!
