A True Fighter!
This Kinjal style blade was commissioned a while back - and I have finally finished it up! For, what appears to be a relatively simple design, it sure challenged by ability, or lack thereof! As it turned out, all the struggle was worth it - it has a nice balance for a big blade, the ebony handle finished beautifully, and the hamon, with the fuller, really made the blade pop. The damascus hardware and dark sheath give it that old world feel. The title true fighter comes from the battle I fought with this thing! 3 blades and 2 sheaths later - IT IS DONE!

sweet. I've kinda always wondered since I don't really do double edged blades; Does getting a hammon on a double edged blade invite warping? If so how do you combat it? Just curious.

yes! it does invite warping!! How did I combat it? - this was the 3rd blade due to warping-lol! seriously though I do, do a stress relief cycle, aside from the standard normalizing prior to heat treating.
Mark - my zombie problem has been eradicated! __________________ North Carolina Custom Knife Maker's Guild ABS Journeyman Smith www.ksrblades.com steve@ksrblades.com |

One of my favorite designs, and you have done an excellent job.

Steve that is a fantastic looking knife. My hat is off and I bow to the master. Making a dagger is 4 times harder than making a single edge knife. But, from you I expect nothing less than pure art.
