Go Bravos!

I'm not Mr. Bowles but I can talk a little about those Braves since I have been living and dying by them the last few decades. Their middle relief has gone so far south that they should be speaking Latin American. I mean if they went back to school, it would be to skunk college (P.U.) If the Braves can make it to the 8th with a lead, they stand a chance with Reitsma and Farnsworth, but it still isn't a gimme.

I can only pray that the Braves bats wake up big time for the playoffs so that the pitchers don't have to work so hard. But we all know that the big games are won by pitching, not by hitting. That being said, what a savior Sosa and Smoltz have been. Without their arms, without the baby Braves, without Andruw Jones finally stepping up and playing like everyone knowing that he could, the Bravos would not be winning their 14th straight title.
This year has truly been a team effort.

I think our best hope is to pull the Marlins in the playoffs. They have a tough pitching staff but the Braves have owned them all year, including the D-Train. Houston scares me. Not to underestimate anyone but any team that doesn't beat San Diego, even in a short series, doesn't deserve to advance any further.

Well, I have babbled enough but I will give this prediction for the series:

Cleveland over St Louis in 6 games And I like neither team. And I will be pulling for a Braves Miracle.

Well, I'll tell ya there scuzzy wasser. The Bo Sox may have tied it up for the moment with the Bombers. but you can be sure that the big bats of the Bronx Bombers will whack the garters off the sox & send 'em sliding down th slippery slope of oblivian to join the "also rans" who have gone before them. Sigh "The big dig" is just softening up the ground for Beantown's hosiery has-beens. It just ain't gonna be pretty.

I agree with Gary on the Cards losing in 6. But it'll be the YANKEES who finish them off after they knock the Redsox out of the division and send the Indians back to Cleveland.

Mabuhay Moosehead!

It was a joke. I may not be able to speak it but I can at least recognize most major languages.

Dear Mr. Moosie,

Please note the rules at the beginning of the forums and know that if this were the other forum you'd probably be BANNED for the name calling!!

Anyhoo, I still believe in the Bosox and think we will beat the Cards in 6!

Although I would rather the Sox be playing the Bravos, being as GTR is such a Braves fan (thanks to Mr. Bowles), and would make the banter around the shop pretty lively!

Raindog, didn't know (could have guessed though) that you a Braves fan! When not rooting for the Redsox I pull for the Braves, must be that I like to pull for the perennial losers, Redsox, Bruins, Chargers, (?how did they get in there?), Seminoles,(in baseball that is, or vs. Miami), !

Never could pull for the teams north of the border though, wasn't sure they played REAL sports up there, they don't do the Mr. Mousie?( oops, forgive the typo moose)!

DW, you don't know losers. *I* know about losers. My other favorite baseball team are the Tigers. Its been a long time since 1984! I have always dreamed about a Tigers/Braves series. And then I wake up in a cold sweat.

Moosehead, no problem. I know that I can be a trifle dry in my humor (and Niagra Falls is a trifle wet.) And in case you haven't noticed, the Expos did go........
