a question about D6 steel
Hi everyone,
the boss att work gave me 3 steel plates 40cm x 15cm x 2.5 cm of D6 i was wondering if this stuff is any good for making knives. Thanks in advance Roger __________________ Life is to short to own an ugly gun or knife. Last edited by praktis; 10-18-2007 at 09:50 AM. |

It's similar to D2 but with higher carbon [2.10 % C] and some W. Should be a bit higher wear resistance and a bit more brittle .Make a knife or two !! There's enough material to experiment with. Make sure it's annealed before you try to cut it.I can give you HT data if you need.

all my HT is done by a ht firm, we send all the stuff from work to them... my stuff just happens to slide along great guys they are. thanks again, /Roger __________________ Life is to short to own an ugly gun or knife. |
