Blacknet;
if you call Houser & Miller, they can provide sterling silver to your spec, as they are a refiner, and reseler. |

Something you might want to consider before you invest in the sterling. The blade you have shown is already heat treated. You could have a hard time drilling holes for the pins. I dont know the steel but a buddy of mine bought a damascus blade that was a skinner (from Texas Knifemaker) with welded full tang. I burned up at least 10 bits, used diamond bits and finally brok tru but had a heck of a time with it and swore I would never do it again. Couldnt heat it as it ( for soldier or pins) will distort etch on damascus. Anyway, just though you might want to try first before you invest. Mabye you will have better luck than me.

Dan.
Carbide bits drill all types of hardened Damascus with ease. They are available in fractional and numbered sizes. I use them very regularly. Frank __________________ Without collectors there would not be makers. |

I am new to this forum and knifemaking. However, I am well educated in casting. I am a goldsmith. Too bad I did not see this sooner. If you want any gold or silver, either fine or sterling cast, I can do it and do it with quality. I can also make ingots, bars and wire to just about anysize. Or I can even roll metals into sheet, just not wider than 1 1/2" If you want to make a model from wax and have it cast, I can do that too, the wax can be purchased from www.riogrande.com
Best of all, my custom casting is something I am willing to trade for. Last edited by El Dorado; 11-16-2007 at 12:35 PM. Reason: add something |
