Crator Steel

crator 4.JPG

I just got a knife from Peter Steyn, out of South Africa, with a unique blade in Crator steel (see above). the definition from his web site is: "Crator" a new and exciting random process that forms part of the 12C27 blade steel without compromising any of the qualities of the steel.

It's offset with cocobolo grips and a very nice, practical sheath. It really fits my hand. You know Peter got this to me from South Africa (to Georgia) in less than a week. That is truly amazing.

I was wondering if anyone else has seen this blade treatment and how it holds up. I hope the picture comes out "ok." It's really different.
