? New photo contest ? Left to right

Hi guys,

It has been too long since we fired up the contest oven. Let's get cooking!

Simple theme for this one: Shoot any image of a knife, but in an orientation that places the blade pointing to the right (75% of knife photos has it the other way around). It can be on an angle. Basically you will shot the reverse side of most knives, unless you have a maker who's work is signed on the RH side (Like D'Holder or Beachamp for instance).

As always include some details of your setup and a real short bio of the knife in the post.

Let's shoot for a minimum of (5) entries and try for a deadline of Friday, May 11th 10pm EST.

Post your entry in the Photo of the Week forum.

Let's see what skills you have acquired over the winter!

Coop

Dude! Piece o' cake once I figured out which was left. I got the up/down front/back thing pretty well figured out, but the left/right thing is, well.... hard for me. It's like, OK, now which side does the fork go on? Obviously Coop, such things aren't a problem for you - and I'm happy for you about that, man. Seriously. What about spelling? That's hard for me too. I once misspelled (or is it mispelled or maybe miss-spelled) - anyway, I spelled wrong the word 'united' seven times in this paper I had to write for school. That was the same paper where I also spelled wrong the word 'missle' seven times. Actually, these days I just try to choose another word that means the same thing, but that I can spell... like rocket. But anyway, thanks to this contest, since I'm figuring out left and right, maybe when there's a word that I'm having a hard time spelling I could just break it down and first look at the left half of the word and try to spell that. Then if that goes well I could try the right half. One time I spelled wrong the word 'knife.' I spelled n-i-f-e. So "my attractive wife" came along and pointed to it on the page and said, "What's the plural of that word"? Of course I knew the answer to that and I told her so. I said, "It's n-i-f-e-s." She laughed a kind of cruel little laugh and walked away. "You got a problem with that?!" I yelled. But she was gone down the hall and didn't hear me. Anyway... this photograpy (see, there it goes again) forum is a great place to learn stuff. So far it looks like everybody else whooz (if I can't spell a word and I can't remember another one that means the same but that I can spell, I just make one up) entered the contest has got the left/right thing right - not 'right' as in 'left' - just 'right' like "right on, dude!" Anyway - good contest so far. I'm havin' a good time.

Whoa! Coop, you must have the day/date problem. That's different - I don't have that one. Good call Don.

Perfect! I'll actually have a finished knife AND be in town next week to photo it!
....and I generally stamp mine on the right side as well.
