How best to handle payment at shows
Hi again,
I am doing my first show in october, my main concern is how to handle payment. I know cash is best but some of my more expensive might prompt a check... Personal checks ok? Extra fee? Information to write down? Things someone like me who is doing their first show probably hasn't thought of yet? Another question, at home a shade tree is not convenient, I am afra## my wood/charcoal forge may damage a tentlike shade that I have and a permanent shed is not possible in the area. Must be presentable. any ##eas? thanks as always Brandon __________________ tools, books and education are the best investments- you can always use them. |

i 've always accepted checks - haven't been burned yet . sounds like maybe you should move to where you can have what you want on your own land . that probably doesn't help , though . paul

thanks
The shed problem is more of a convenience problem than what I can have or build. I work out of my garage door so my welder and bench vise are convenient. Where I stand is the only area in which I have access to my backyard with vehicle. To build a permanent structure here would block access to the back with my truck. Has more to do with the lay of the land than any neighbors.
Thanks for your answers on the check problem. Brandon __________________ tools, books and education are the best investments- you can always use them. |

I have a book at home about blacksmithing (The Anvil's Ring?) where the author describes his forge setup in a teepee! Just keep an eye on the shade, it's probably fine.
I've always accepted personal checks at shows if the person seems sincere and can show me ##. Someday I'll get burned, but haven't yet. Most people bring cash to the shows. |
