Capturing off of a DVD
I didn't search this at all, so I'm not sure what's there (but will after work). My question is about capturing stills from say a DVD. The best I've been about to do is to pause the DVD, then try and take a digital. It's bad at it's best. Is there a program that's user friendly that will allow me to do this?

Robert, the best capture software is "snagit".

Intervideo Windvd will also allow you to do captures. Or at least the version I have will.
From the help files of windvd "WinDVD now allows users to capture a static image during movie playback. Press the "P" key at any time to capture a BMP file of a moving or static image. Capture does not work on zoomed regions and on some hardware motion compensation graphics chips. If you are having a problem, try disabling hardware motion compensation and capturing again. Captured bitmaps are stored in the Capture subdirectory of the WinDVD directory on your hard drive. Captured files are numbered sequentially: cap001.bmp, cap002.bmp, and so on." |
