I think that a couple of pounds at the most would do the trick. I made a paint can heat treat forge and mixed maybe a third of the five pound container that I bought and that was three or four times more than I needed
 to coat the inswool for mine. Hope this helps.

Mix up about a cup full. Paint on. If you need more, mix up a little more.
