working on a new handle and sheath--- finish ideas needed

hello everyone.

It has been a little while but I am working on a new sheath and handle.
.

here are the last 2 I did. and I am changing the style a little on the sheath.

I was told they are double stabilized/ injected.
I would like to have a high gloss thick coating. any ideas?

I'm not sure what was ment by double stabilized but the wood should be thoroughly impregnated with resin whatever it is. A wheel with a rounded face should give you the pattern that you want or maybe you could shape a flap wheel and use it. As far as finish goes, stabilized wood needs none. Just sand out to a fine grit then buff.

I think he means double dyed

Sand to at least 600 and then hit with the buffer with white or pink compound

If you don't have a buffer, sand to atleast 600 and use carnuba car wax and hand buff

For the effect in your second post, round hand files work or small wheel on your grinder
