Friction folder layout help
Does anyone know where I can get info on how to properly construct friction folders. I have made a few and the turned out ok other than one problem that I can't seem to find an answer for. The question is where on the blade do I place the pivot hole in relation to the center of the blade?
Thanks, Mike I wish I had some pics to post but I gave the knives away. |

Most of the time, the pivot hole is centered in the width of the blade. Doesn't matter much if you end up a little high or a little low since you can grind the top of the blade or the underside handle to make it come out right.
There is a book on my website that has basic patterns in it for quite a few simple folder designs including friction folders. It is a pocket knife repair book, look for it on http://www.rayrogers.com/books.htm |
