first friction folder and another

Hey everyone was bored so messed around making a friction folder. Had fun doing it and making the micarta.

1/8 1080
3 inch blade little over 4 inch handle. Black denim micarta with red paper liners, hardened stop pin.

Wanted to try making something a little bigger on this one. Doing this made me want to try a hidden tang and do a gaurd pretty soon.Went out into the brush and had some fun with this one haha. Few things I wish i did differently on this one but im still learning.

3/16 1080
9 inch blade, 5 inch handle
store bought black linen micarta

Nice clean work and good looking designs! Your friction folder design is not typical of friction folders though, it is much more like a liner lock or lock back folder or even a slip joint - all it really needs to become one of these is a liner or a back spring. Something to consider when you're ready for the next step ....

Once I get my grinder built and get all my sheath making materials I defiantly wanna try doing a liner lock, had a lot of fun making that one, had some challanging moments but it was worth it.
